Team Racing Update

Team racing at the club has certainly evolved over the last 20 years, back then the club turned up at a competition, had fun with the upside of taking the honours. Now we have some of the best young International team racers within our Academy and Gold standard members - for the Masters it is a somewhat different story!!
However, we are fighting back with a 3 year program to once again be a team racing club that is competitive at all levels. Over the next couple of months there will be more on these plans.

Grand Masters Team Racing; Newport RI. August 27th and 28th
The NYYC are hosting a Grand Masters event after the success of the inaugural event in 2010. The racing will be in sonars 3 x boat and white sail, with a minimum age of 55 for the helm and 45 for the crew sailing 3 or 4 up and a total weight limit of 700lbs.
Racing will be on the Saturday and Sunday with a dinner on the Saturday evening, last year there were 6 teams with 51 races (three round robins and a mini championship round-robin) clearly a great team racing event.

We are looking for a team that can work well together and find time to practice, we have a number of dates pencilled in with top level coaching planned to really focus on what is needed to be competitive, in boat speed, tactics and boat handling. So if you want to be part of a team that changed the scoreboard in the same way the younger members have done I need to hear from you now.
