Racing and Cruising at the Royal Thames Yacht Club

The Club will be hosting a 'Sailing Forum' on Wednesday the 18th January 2012 to review all Racing and Cruising activities. This is an innovation in response to cruisers', racers' and new members' demands to know more about our sailing activities. This event will also provide a good opportunity to introduce sailing friends to other members.

The RTYC has a very extensive sailing programme at every level, but sometimes it is a challenge to communicate all of these activities without flooding members with unwanted information. Whatever your sailing interests, it is likely that there is something in the programme that you will wish to participate in, and the Forum should help you to find the best way to do so. If that is not the case, then it will be an excellent time to give that feedback, and to make suggestions to those that volunteer to create such a rich tapestry of sailing events.

You will be able to meet and discuss 2012 with Captain of Cruising: Simon Lavers, Captain of Racing: Chris Griffiths, Gill Smith who heads the Race Management Committee, an Academy member, our CSO Malcolm McKeag and myself.

The event will be held in the Britannia Bar and adjacent rooms from 6:30pm. With a Buffet Supper (£18 charge) served afterwards in the Coffee Room should you and your guests wish to stay on.

Practicalities

Attendance: It would be very helpful if you could please contact Paola in the Sailing Office, so that we have an indication of numbers.

Buffet Supper: Booking is essential, so please let Paola know if you are staying on.
