J80S TEAM RACING – TRAINING & COMPETITIONS – STARTING 4/5 DECEMBER

Attention all Team Racers!
 

We have arranged a full team racing programme in the J 80 fleet for the winter:

• 4th and 5th December Team Race Training

• 11th & 12th December: Carmela Cup Trials (Gold level) - 2 crews to be selected as RTYC B Team

• 22nd & 23rd January: Random Pairs Competition to find the best crews for the Final

• 20th March: Team Racing Final - high drama!

For the weekend of 4th and 5th December we have secured the services of BA Cup victors, Andy Cornah and Mark Lees, to put you through your paces and coach you in the art of team racing. On Saturday we have arranged a theory session in the morning followed by on the water drills in the afternoon and on Sunday we plan to run a further short theory session followed by a number of coached races out on the water.

All ages and abilities are welcome and this will be a good opportunity to try out team racing if you are new to it or hone your skills if you are already a keen team racer. This is the only training session planned at the moment and we want to get as many of you out there on the water as possible. Please register your interest early so we can pull crews together. If a full weekend is a problem you can do Saturday or Sunday.

The 2 training days are FREE and the other days are standard charge of £35 per head/day.

It would be great if you can find three other members to form a crew to take part - alternatively, you can just come along and we will allocate you to a crew. Either way, this promises to be a great weekend's training so please do get involved.

Entries for this training event close on 27th November so apply early to secure a place and avoid disappointment.

As your sat nav approaches the reservoir, please make sure that at the traffic lights with the BP Service Station that you turn into Ashford Road (B378) from the A308 and immediately turn into the entrance.
