RTYC J80 Match Racing

Calling all racers, umpires, helpers and friends…
 
The RTYC Intra Club Match Racing Championship 2010
 

The Royal Thames Yacht Club now has its own fleet of boats, 6 matched J80s in prime racing condition. Shortly after taking ownership of the boats we ran two successful weekends with excellent racing for competitors, umpires and the brave souls on the committee boat. Its time to put those long winter nights discussing tactics to good use and pit yourself against some of the club’s best sailors from the RTYC. We would also like to extend this invitation to those members interested in race umpiring or management.
 
2010 sees a packed schedule for these boats both on the intra club side and on the international invitational side. It is that time again to commit to some fantastic racing throughout the year with old friends and new friends to form part of the 2010 RTYC Intra Club championship.

 
Even if you have never raced for or with the RTYC these events are for you.
 
Format –            

Invitational RTYC helms

Ladder Match Racing
Individual days to be run on a round robin format with 6 helms, with a good score resulting in progression up the ladder that will carry through to the next weekend.
 
Cost approx £35 pp pd
 
A RTYC prize will be up for grabs for the best series helm/crew at the November RTYC prize giving

To all those who wish to learn, understand and eventually manage an event, we are looking for volunteers for all of these events to help with the race management both on and off the water, in particular those members of the club who would like to learn more about umpiring from our own Brian Smith.
 
Remember these events and many others like it at the RTYC are only possible through your support and commitment, it is this commitment which will enable many more successful, enjoyable and highly competitive events to take place.
