Summer Closure

Members are reminded that the Coffee Room, Kitchen and Bars are closed from after lunch on Friday 31st July until AM Tuesday 25th August. 

During this period the Club’s main deep cleaning effort is undertaken as well as any major refurbishments.  However, this year no cabin refurbishments are being undertaken so there should plenty of cabin availability on a ‘Bed & Continental Breakfast’ basis.

The following is a list of members offering hospitality to Association Clubs which close during August together with any comments submitted by the Clubs.

All Clubs require current membership cards.  All accounts should be paid on presentation at the time of Members using the facilities of any of the Clubs and before departure.

Army & Navy Club will be delighted to offer hospitality to Members of the ALC Clubs during their respective closures upon presentation of their membership card and a card of introduction.  We will remain open throughout the summer and a normal service will operate during weekdays.  However, at weekends, the following outlets will be open.   Breakfast in the Pall Mall Room:  0745-1000 Saturday; 0815-1000 Sunday.  Lunch 1200-2300 Saturday; (Snacks only in the Ian Jacob Bar) 1200-2100 Sunday.  Dinner in the Coffee Room 1745-2100 Saturday only.   Strict dress code during the weekdays and children under 8 are not allowed in the Club.  Sunday service on Bank Holidays.  

Arts Club will be open throughout August closing only on Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday (28 August).  We would welcome members from other clubs during this time.  We are open from 9am-2am Monday-Saturday (last entry at midnight).  We have a small walled garden where we will be serving lunch and dinner if the weather is good plus the usual dining room.

Cavalry & Guards Club would be pleased to welcome members from other ALC Clubs during August (we accept Ladies and children over 12 (under 12 by arrangement).

City University Club is open throughout the summer and is delighted to welcome members of other Clubs to lunch.  The club is open from 12.00 noon to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Goodenough Club is open through the summer and would be delighted to welcome members of other clubs to use our accommodation and dining facilities.  Reservations can be made through the website www.club.goodenough.ac.uk by email to noelle@goodenough.ac.uk. 

Institute of Directors is pleased to welcome members from all other ALC Clubs during their summer closure.

Lansdowne Club is very happy to welcome ALC Club members to its dining and bedroom facilities during the August, Monday - Friday. The Club has a relaxed dress code; jacket and tie are not required.  

National Liberal Club is open throughout the summer, apart from weekends and Bank Holidays, and is pleased to offer hospitality. Mondays to Fridays, to ALC members. Weather permitting, luncheon and dinner may be taken on the terrace which overlooks the Thames.   No children admitted under 14 (during August not under 8).  Not residential.

Naval Club is open in August and offers facilities to other ALC members.  During August there will be a 30% reduction in weekday accommodation prices and a 20% reduction in food and beverages.

Naval & Military Club is open throughout August and we will be delighted to offer our facilities to other ALC members.  On arrival we will require visitors to demonstrate that they are members of an ALC Club but it will not be necessary when making a booking.  The full service will be available throughout August - bedrooms, Coffee Room (breakfast, lunch and dinner), Down & Out (informal bar and brasserie), gym, courtyard, etc.  Please note that at weekends the Coffee Room is closed.  Exchange number for all bookings: 020 7827 5757.  For more information, please look at the website: www.navalandmilitaryclub.co.uk

Oriental Club welcomes members from other Clubs during the August period.  Children have to be a minimum of 11 years old.

Royal Air Force Club will be pleased to offer hospitality to Members from Clubs during the summer closure.  We ask that Members from other Clubs have a membership card or card of introduction with them when they visit this Club.  It is also recommended that tables are booked in advance 020 7399 1020 or through the website www.rafclub.org.uk.

Royal Over-Seas League welcomes members from other London Clubs during August.  The garden offers al fresco lunch and the Buttery an all day menu seven days a week.  Please call 020 7491 3644 for further information.

Savage Club is open throughout the summer and offers hospitality to gentlemen members of any ALC Club on production of a card or note signed by the secretary of the parent club.  The Club is open from Monday-Friday 1100 to 2300 hrs; Saturdays & Sundays - closed.  Ladies are also welcome after 1730 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The bar serves the usual range of alcoholic drinks, tea and coffee and a limited selection of freshly prepared sandwiches.

St. Stephen's Club is open during July and August and is open for lunch 11 am - 3 pm and is open for drinks until 6 pm.
