RYA First Aid Course

An RYA approved First Aid Course will be run in the Clubhouse from 1830 until 2145 on the evenings of 20th and 27th May 2009.

RYA First Aid Course

This course will teach you how to cope with medical emergencies on board, from minor ailments to serious situations that require an immediate response. The syllabus covers situations you are likely to encounter while at sea, with particular emphasis on resuscitation techniques and caring for a man overboard victim. We also explain how to obtain outside medical assistance and what to expect when involved in a helicopter rescue scenario. The certificate is valid for three years and is essential to everyone who sails.

The course price is £60 per person.

Duration: 2 Evenings May 20th and 27th 18.30- 21.45

Content:

  • The control of the incident
  • Recovery Position
  • Resuscitation and CPR
  • Treatment of various conditions i.e. Stroke, Epilepsy, Hypothermia etc.

 

PLEASE NOTE : The price of £60 is only available if 12 people are on the course.

If we do not get the full quota we will change the dates of the course to later in the year.
