RTYC Match Racing & Training 13th December

As I am sure you are all aware the Match Race training weekend had to be cancelled (due to be rescheduled early 2010) due to a lack of water, all those with umbrellas will have been using them a great deal in recent days and so now is the time to put oneself forward for the proposed match racing event due to be held at Queen Mary Reservoir on the 13th of December (Sunday). The format of the day will introduce those not accustomed to match racing and provide valuable training to those who wish to sharpen their skills over this winter season.

In principal, meet at QMSC for 09:30 on Sunday morning for a briefing and opportunity to meet the rest of the participants. On the water activities will start with some warm up fleet racing leading onto team/match racing depending on numbers. Sailing will be undertaken throughout the day with an agreed finish time of no later than 15:30 due to light – this of course will be reconsidered weather dependant.

We will also be asking for volunteers to come on Saturday the 12th December to help with race management of another RTYC event.
