Autumn Excuse - Sail'n'Shoot — 17 October '08

17 October –19 October

Our traditional end-of-season weekend in Yarmouth combining cruising, shooting, golf and team race sailing, two supper parties and on Saturday – King's Manor for pre-prandial drinks.

Friday 17th October  (HW Portsmouth 1334 BST)

Afternoon: Cumberland Fleet begins to gather in Yarmouth Harbour.

1800 - foregather for pre-dinner drinks in the Kings Head;

1930 - move en masse to On The Rocks for the pre-shoot supper

 Saturday 18th October  (HW Portsmouth 1418 BST )

 0915 -  Battle will commence on the 1st tee of Freshwater Bay GC at 9.30 am and we should therefore gather there at 9.15 am.

 1015 - Skippers' briefing for Scow team racing - gather in Yarmouth SC, just above the road bridge.

1400 - Team Racing in Scows finishes - drinks and light lunch in Yarmouth SC.

1600 - Sailors, shooters and golfers return to yachts and boats for drinks or zizz according to inclination.

 1800 - Gather in the Square for transportation to King's Manor

 1815 -Mr and Mrs Jamie Sheldon At Home for pre-prandial drinks at King's Manor.

 1915 - Return to Yarmouth

 2000 - supper at Royal Solent YC. 

 2330 - last water taxi to pontoons

 Sunday 19th October (HW Portsmouth 1503 BST)

The tide serves nicely for a more relaxed trip eastwards than has sometimes been the case. For those still with the stamina, the King's Head opens at 1000.
