Aeolian Rally — 06 September '08

06 September –19 September

Cruise around the Tyrrhenian Sea taking in the sights of the local Islands including the Magnificent Cathedral of Monreale and the spectacular Stromboli

Please note: This rally is now commencing on the 6th September, not on the 13th as originally planned.


RALLY COMMENCES Saturday 6th SEPTEMBER in PALERMO

You are welcome to join us for one week, ten days or two weeks. We will be keeping a crew list for members who would like to join a yacht or make up a crew.

We suggest you arrive a day earlier for sightseeing in Palermo, in particular to visit the magnificent cathedral of Monreale

OPENING COCKTAIL PARTY at Villa Igiea, PALERMO

Sun 7th Sept  

Sail to Cefalu (approx 35 miles)

Mon 8th Sept

‘Competitive sail’ to Lipari (approx 55 miles)

Tues 9th Sept

Visit arranged to the superb Archeological Museum
 
AEOLIAN OPENING DINNER

Wed 10th Sept

Sail to Volcano – climb steaming volcano

Overnight Selina

Thurs 11th Sept 

‘Competitive sail to Panarea’ – the Designer Island

 

 

Fri 12th Sept 

DESIGNER ISLAND DINNER 

WEEK 2

 

Sat 13th Sept

Sail to Stromboli

Opportunity to visit Europe’s most active volcano

Sun 14th Sept 

South through the Straits of Messina

Mon 15th Sept

Call in at Taormina and on to Catania

Tue 16th Sept

Catania – tour with a vulcanologist up to the top of Mt Etna

Wed 17th Sept

Sail on to Syracuse

Thurs 18th Sept

Tour of Syracuse. 

Fri 19th Sept

CLOSING DINNER and End of Rally
