Wine Tasting - Bordeaux: 2005 Médocs Chosen From The Club’s Own Cellars' — 05 November '12

Monday 5th November at 6.45pm

Members choose red Bordeaux from the Coffee Room list more than all other wines put together!  We cellar our own stock, both at the Club and in-bond, and for this tasting we have dipped into those stocks for a pre-view of what is to come.

We have been helped in this by Douglas Morton, former MD of Baron Philippe de Rothschild UK , and currently consultant to the CIVB - the Bordeaux Wine Council. He was  awarded the Chevalier de Mérite Agricole for services to French wine earlier this year.  Douglas has chosen red Bordeaux from the famous 2005 vintage, some of which have just made it onto the Coffee Room Wine List and others that we will draw from Bond.  Comparisons will include wines from the Graves and classified growths from the famous communes of the Médoc, Margaux, St Julien, Pauillac and St Estèphe.  And for those who stay on for Dinner, there will be the added treat of a classified growth Barsac.

We hope that you will understand that a tasting such as this costs a little more, even drawing from our own stocks, but we doubt that you will find a better Bordeaux tasting for only £25 anywhere else.

We hope to see you at 6.45 for 7.00pm, prompt, on Monday 5th November. Our last tasting was over-subscribed with a waiting list, so you know what you have to do!

Tickets: £25

Time: 6.45pm
