The 2008 Laying Up Dinner will be presided over by the Commodore, HRH The Duke of York. This annual black-tie dinner marks to formal ‘end’ to the summer sailing season and is an opportunity for many members to meet. The Club has had a very successful year, both on the water and in Knightsbridge.
Rod Carr OBE, Chief Executive of RYA and formerly the Olympic Manager, will be the Club’s Guest of Honour at the dinner and will speak about Olympic sailing. The RYA will be playing a major role in the 2012 Olympics and the spotlight will once again be on Team GBR following the successes in China this year.
