Masters Team Racing Programme launch — 27 September '11

Join the Forty-plus Revival

Our Younger Members currently carry the Royal Thames banner high in inter-club and international team racing, with recent wins in the British-American Cup and Jackson Cup and a recognised force to be reckoned with on both sides of the Atlantic. When our Masters teams (usually defined as sailors over 40 years of age) go off to represent the Club they... well, they do very well socially. Rear Commodore Mike Halstead, Captain of Racing Chris Griffith and Masters Team Leader Nigel Baker wish to change that, and have put together a comprehensive programme in the coming months of coaching sessions in the Clubhouse and in our J/80s at Queen Mary specifically designed to put Royal Thames back in the trophy cabinets at New Orleans, New York, Seawanhaka and here at home.  The programme will be launched at an evening in the Knightsbridge Clubhouse on Tuesday 27th September by Chris, Nigel and Andy Cornah, Captain of our victorious BA Cup team, leader of GBR1, the British Number One team that has just won the ISAF Team Racing Worlds and a gifted and passionate team racing coach.

Come to the Clubhouse on Tuesday to hear their plans - no need to book, plus please let sailing@royalthames.com know if you are coming to assist us assess numbers attending.
