Stylish and Seductive Wines of Burgundy — 07 March '11

A tutored wine tasting with Montrachet Fine Wine Merchants - Monday 7th March 2011, 6pm - 8pm

"Vibrant, aromatic and expressive....." are just some of the words used to describe the much-heralded, and just released, 2009 Burgundy vintage. A possible rival to 2005? For many the vintage not only rivals that of 2005 but beats it, in providing open and appealing wines.

Vintage variation aside, to many Burgundy can simply be a confusing mix of producers, villages and domains - each one clamouring to capture your attention and yet still leaving you unsure of what to buy, or even order.

Members and their guests are invited to join us for a tutored wine-tasting as we explore Burgundy - its grapes, infamous terroir, and vintages. The evening will be hosted by Montrachet Fine Wine Merchants with their wine experts on hand to guide you through the tasting.

To set the mood, the evening will start with a glass of Crémant de Bourgogne before we move on to a tasting of four white and four red wines, including examples of Chablis, the lauded 2009 vintage with wines from villages such as Nuits-Saint-Georges and Chassagne-Montrachet.
