Royal Thames Hurst Picnic — 08 August '10
.
After the success of last year’s picnic at Hurst Castle we are looking forward to another great event this year.
This year we are expanding the event slightly and for those that wish to can berth overnight on the Saturday in Lymington. We have booked the Dan Bran pontoon for Saturday evening through until late afternoon on Sunday so please indicate on the booking form whether or not you wish to use this facility.
On Sunday morning the Solent Rose Ferry will pick members up from the Harbour Master's pontoon at 1000hrs and take you to Hurst. The ferry will then pick members up from Hurst at 1500hrs and return to Lymington. There will be a charge of £10 per person for the return journey and this will be collected on the ferry by the Captain of Cruising.
If you are unable to make the Saturday evening in Lymington then you can either come by boat and anchor at Hurst where a water taxi will be available to take you ashore, or alternatively you can come by car to Lymington and pick up the Solent Rose or to Keyhaven and make use of the Hurst ferry service that operates on a regular basis. Bear in mind that the car parks can get busy as the day goes on.
At the Castle there will be plenty of entertainment for the kids, including a bouncy castle, running races, treasure hunts and kite flying which will all keep you busy and lead to a thoroughly enjoyable day.
A chef will be on hand to cook your food for you between 1200hrs and 1400hrs, so bring plenty, and I am sure he won’t be burning the sausages!!! PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. FOOD IS NOT AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE AT THE CASTLE!!!
Tickets are £10 per person, big or small. Please fill in the booking form below and return to the Sailing Office. BOOKINGS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 26th JULY
We look forward to seeing you there.
