Inter-club Team Racing — 19 March '10

An informal weekend tournament for club members in the J80s at Queen Mary

This was a fun Club-level weekend of team racing among ourselves to which we welcomed two crews from our colleagues and joint-owners of the boats the Royal Yacht Squadron, and a crew from Royal London YC.

Saturday began with a couple of fleet races to get our hand and eye set for the rest of the day, then we ran a series of Random Threes - three-on-three team racing where the teams change with each race. Each crew scored one point each time it is part of a winning team.

The top scoring boat was helmed by Ben Clothier.

On Sunday the RTYC 3 boat team took on the combined RYS and RLYC team for a day of team racing.  Competition was keen and the RTYC Team led by captain Ben Clothier narrowly defeated RYS/RLYC. A fun prize giving and informal supper followed with Easter eggs all round.  A total of 22 RTYC team racers took part in an enjoyable weekend.
